There are over 40 heritable and congenital disorders, affecting the boxer. But there is not breeder screening available for all. Additionally, of the 40+ disorders, they are not all life limiting and/or threatening. The list is comprised of 182 more commonly known purebred dogs. Written in 1994, it has been revised five times, most recently in 2011.

Banjo has had her heart tested via ultrasound to rule out AS/SAS, via holter monitor annually (prior to breeding) to assess for ARVC (cardiomyopathy). She has had her hips and elbows x-rayed and OFA scored. Her thyroid and kidneys have been assessed via bloodwork. Banjo is clear of both DM and the HEMAbx mutations.
